Because those rules can't be followed, sports in my province and in many other provinces have all been shut down. So what gives the NHL any right to come in and demand special treatment for its teams and players just so it can run through a season? Why on earth would any government acquiesce to this request when the citizens of those provinces can't live their lives in a somewhat-normal manner? Or, to be blunt once more, why is the NHL acting like a petulant child while the rest of us are being punished for not following rules? Tennessee Titans for NHL Face Masks

"If you're playing a regular schedule of games, you can't quarantine players for 14 days as you're moving in and out of the country, which is why, among the other issues that are going to impact a possible season, is we literally would have to realign and create a situation where maybe the teams in Canada only play each other, and we have to realign the way all of our teams are playing competitively," the Commissioner said.

"You've got to get that first year under your belt, especially as a highly skilled offensive player," assistant general manager Dan MacKinnon said of Hughes. "We're confident his second year is going to be better, and his third year will be another step, so we're looking for good things." Miami Dolphins for NHL Face Masks

"The Government of Canada's priority is to protect the health and safety of Canadians. The resumption of sports events in Canada must be undertaken in adherence to Canada's measures to mitigate the importation and spread of COVID-19," the Public Health Agency of Canada said in a statement on December 17. "NHL teams and other professional sports teams must operate within the rules of their provincial jurisdictions for sports or sporting events."

Former Hab Alex Auld even paid tribute to Dryden’s iconic look with a split 50/50 design, incorporating elements from the franchise’s storied history.

"He had several teams that were interested," Pau Gasol said of his brother. "What he valued most was the opportunity to win another championship. To play for the Lakers -- it's such a unique franchise. It's the opportunity of a lifetime, and it's very special for us to be the first brothers to play for the Lakers."

"I will always treasure meeting Fred at the 2019 Heritage Classic in his native Saskatchewan, getting to spend some precious time getting to know him and the gift he gave me that day -- a statue depicting his NHL rookie card,'' NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement.
